Green Bean Bundles - Grandpa Leo

Food Memories: This recipe came from Lauren's grandmother (Faye Fields). It quickly became a favorite for the Bray's and was a part of their holiday meal every year.

Ingredients:

2 cans whole green beans (not cut)
garlic powder seasoning
brown sugar
butter
1 lb. bacon

Drain green beans and place in a large mixing bowl. Season to taste with garlic powder. Toss gently. Set aside.

Slice bacon strips in half. Wrap bacon around approximately a 1 inch bundle of green beans and place in a 9x13 inch baking pan. (usually use glass).

Melt 1 regular stick of butter in a sauce pan. When melted add brown sugar to taste (usually 2 to 3 tablespoons). When disolved, pour over green beans and bake in oven at 350 degrees until bacon is brown. If you overcook, green beans will shrivel.

Thanks For the recipe. Now it is immortalized as part of our family memories. This is a yummy dishes that began for us with the union of Momma Katie and Leo. Leo has brought some great recipes to our family. But he has brought so much more than that. I am grateful for Leo and his good example, kindness, His lectures to the kids at the table!(It helps to hear it from more than Mom and Dad)playing basketball with B, and Wii with S,C,and A. (I know the kids feel loved) and For his greenbeans.
