Memories: (Aunt Juanita) but always Grandma Collins Lovell to me would like to bake these pies in advance and freeze them so that whenever anyone came over to their house in Woodville she could pop it out for an addition to her meal. It was always delicious. Funny story: When she would freeze desserts she would label them and date them. Someone pulled out one of her pies and said, "What is a BM pie?". Forever a joke that she would scoff at.
Buttermile Pie
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 or 3 rounded Tbs. flour
3 eggs beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. nutmeg on top of pie before baking
Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes.
